Humble, pray, seek!

'...and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.'

2 Chronicles 7:14 (Amplified)

Quoted above is an incredible Scripture from the Old Testament. Many people discredit the relevance of this verse to the modern day spiritual scenario. They argue that this viewpoint does not apply to the New Testament believers. What is the truth? Does this verse hold something for the church today?

This verse is talking about the culture of sin, it's effect on the land and the godly remedy to it. Sin causes sickness and death. When people embrace a culture of rebellion against God, the land comes under a great curse. What is amazing to note here is that God's remedy is extended through the response of His people! In today's, context the verse can be read like this; 'if my church will humble, pray and seek My face, then..... '

The mandate on the church is not to provide physical solutions to the manifold problems in the world but to provide spiritual solutions. The issues of today cannot be approached with a temporal mindset but only with an attitude of eternity. Only the church can do it. Only you can do it!
