God remembers!

'Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.'

GENESIS 40:23 (NASB)

Joseph continued to experience divine favour even in the prison. The chief cupbearer and the chief baker had their dreams interpreted accurately through Joseph. Joseph expected the chief cupbearer to return favour. However, once he was reinstated to office, Joseph passed into oblivion in his mind.

Joseph ministered to the cupbearer at his lowest point, while in prison. In life there are times when we help and encourage people who are in their lowest valleys, while we ourselves are going through difficult circumstances. It is only human to expect them to remember us with favour and gratitude, just as Joseph hoped the cupbearer would do. 'Yet, the cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.' That only shows how finite human gratitude is.  Man forgets fast. God remembers forever.

Do good to others, expecting nothing in return. Minister love and speak life, expecting no favour from man. God maintains unbiased records and His accounts are always up-to-date. He keeps account of even a cup of cold water. Your labour for Christ will not be disregarded by Him. He will never forget you. 'See, I have inscribed you within the palm of My hand'. Surely, your reward is from Him.  Jesus is your exceedingly great reward.
